One of the keys for Trubisky having a good game is pass protection. The Chargers’ best pass rusher is defensive end Joey Bosa. The 2016 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year has five sacks on the season, and could easily add to his total on Sunday afternoon. The player who will initially be assigned to stop Bosa is right tackle Bobby Massie. Of course, Massie may get assistance from the tight ends and running backs, but containing Bosa falls squarely on the shoulders of Massie. Considering the fact that Trubisky hasn’t run as much as he did last season, keeping Bosa (and the rest of L.A.’s pass rush) off of Trubisky’s back is a must.
