The Chicago Bears will be without six players on Thanksgiving. Taylor Gabriel and Ben Braunecker are two of those six.
As expected, both Taylor Gabriel and Ben Braunecker will not be playing for the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving. The two will miss the Lions game with concussions. Hopefully, both will be back before the Week 14 matchup with the Cowboys on Thursday night football. The team will need all the help they can get for that one.
The other players who will not be participating on Thanksgiving include Bobby Massie (ankle), Sherick McManis (groin), Adam Shaheen (foot – are we believing this?) and Danny Trevathan (elbow). All of these players were expected to miss this game and I would be shocked if Adam Shaheen plays another down for the Bears this season or in his career. What a bust.
With the game being less than 24 hours from now, it will be interested to see if the team makes any roster adjustments. Could they call up Riley Ridley? What about Alex Bars seeing any action? This close to game time I would be surprised if they did anything other than making a move with Bradley Sowell. Sowell has been on and off the 53-man roster more often this season than I have fingers. Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but it sure seems that way.
The Lions seem to have more injuries going on than the Bears. Matthew Stafford is likely out as he has not practiced all week. Jeff Driskel has been dealing with a hamstring issue all week and was a limited participant. It will be interesting to see who starts for the Lions tomorrow. Either way, the Bears should have this game in hand.
Despite having a two percent chance of making the playoffs right now, the Chicago Bears should not lose this game. Losing this game will make that two percent drop to zero faster than my youngest son sneaking a lick of dessert before Thanksgiving dinner. Just imagine a five-year-old who likes to sneak sweets. He is quick.
