Tight End

Trey Burton is already out for the season. Now, the Bears have to figure out how to go about things without their second- and third-string tight ends. Adam Shaheen and Ben Braunecker are both ruled out of Thursday’s contest with a foot injury and a concussion respectively.

Chicago’s tight ends have been virtually invisible in their offense all season long, and much isn’t expected from the position in this game. That could be a reason why a solid game from the tight end position could be possible. J.P. Holtz is the next man in line for the offense at tight end. In addition, Bradley Sowell and Jesper Horsted round out the depth chart.

Although Holtz plays a lot in the backfield as a lead blocker in the I-formation, will be see him getting targets down the seam? Will be see Sowell in another Santa’s Sleigh play on the goal line? We’ll have to wait and see.
