Coaching

By far, this was the best display of coaching by Matt Nagy and his staff all season long. The choice to give Trubisky the green light to run the ball made the biggest impact for the offense, and in the game as a whole. Not only was adding Trubisky’s legs to the formula important, but defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano’s ability to adjust to having a depleted defense played an important part. With Smith leaving the game early, and already having Amukamara, Danny Trevathan, and Akiem Hicks sidelined, Pagano still found a way to put his defensive players in position to be successful against the best offense in the league.
