Allen Robinson

Very deserving to appear on my Bears All-Decade team is none other than Allen Robinson. I know you can put Brandon Marshall or even Alshon Jeffery instead of Robinson, but personally I just really like Robinson.

Originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL draft (61st overall)

He spent four years down in Florida with the Jaguars with his best year coming in 2015. Where he had 80 receptions for a total of 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns. After the 2017 season, Robinson became a free agent.

Heading into the 2018 season, the Bears desperately needed a legitimate number one wide receiver, and in their eyes, Robinson was what they needed, and maybe could help elevate the play of a young quarterback like Trubisky. So Ryan Pace went out and signed Robinson to a three-year deal worth $42 million dollars. In his first year with the Bears, Robinson hauled in 55 receptions for 754 receiving yards.

Robinson quickly established himself as a key piece to Nagy’s offense. In 2019, Robinson did become the first Bears’ receiver to accomplish a 1,000-yard season since Jeffery did it back in 2014.

Bears fans know that this man is not on the pro bowl roster or even a reserve, which I highly disagree with.

Robinson has one year left on his current contract with the Bears, and I expect him to get a contract extension after the 2019 season is officially over. At the age of 26, Robinson is just approaching the prime of his career and he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
