Bradley Roby-Houston

This 28-year-old cornerback has made a name for himself in Houston. He just might be available in the upcoming free agency period and the Bears might want to take a long look at him. Soon to become an unrestricted free agent, Roby plays with the grit that you want to see in a cornerback and would be a big step up from Amukamara should the Bears let him go this offseason.

Roby has been in the league for six seasons, five with Denver and one with Houston. He has eight interceptions over that time period as well as four fumble recoveries. He is well adept at tackling and covering receivers. Roby hasn’t been selected to a Pro Bowl or an All-Pro team but has been named AFC Defensive Player of the week one time.

Like Harris, Roby appears as if he is going to require a lot of money to be signed but it will be less than what Harris and Jimmy Smith will command. Roby is on a one-year deal with the Texans right now and is likely seeking a longer-term deal. If the Bears could get him on a cap-friendly deal and add him to their roster, not only would they have an upgrade over Amukamara but would also have a long-term solution at the cornerback position opposite Kyle Fuller.

Roby seems like a reasonable option and is someone that would most likely be easier to get than a guy like Harris. Still, the Bears would likely have to spend a pretty penny to get him but if they want to shore an ailing cornerback spot, then this would probably be the best way to go.
