Chicago Bears: 5 Best free agent signings by Ryan Pace

Chicago Bears fans are already all over Ryan Pace for most of his free-agent signings this offseason. To soften the blow we look at his five best free agents.

The big problem with Chicago Bears free agency this year is that the team is currently up against the cap. Ryan Pace needs to be creative and move money around to try and make things work. The team will need a million or two just for their rookies. I would expect that Allen Robinson is extended soon. This should help at least a little.

The Khalil Mack trade is not one to include in this article. These are strictly free agent signings and not trades. Mack is easily the most impactful player the Chicago Bears have brought in, but he was not a free agent and the rules are different. Not to mention, he takes up a huge chunk of the team’s salary cap space.

When looking at the free agents brought in by Ryan Pace over the years, we need to account for injuries, salary ramifications and of course production. In my opinion, production is clearly the most important. I will admit, ranking the last two were more difficult than the rest. On top of that, one free agent who makes this list did not stay here long, but he could be bringing in a compensatory pick next season. The point is, many factors exist.

Pace has had some big hits and some huge misses.
