vs. New Orleans Saints

When you take a look at the 2019 season, only two games got away from the Chicago Bears. The first one took place in Week 7 in a loss to the New Orleans Saints. The second was a loss in Week 16 to the Chiefs.

Looking at Vegas odds, the Saints are the only team projected to win 10-plus games during this four-game stretch. The Bears defense would have to step up for the team to have any chance in this one. I am not sure who will be the quarterback at this point in the season, but I do not think it will matter if Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky will be leading the team. The Saints are that talented.

In 2019, Teddy Bridgewater was the quarterback attacking the Bears. This game will either be led by Drew Brees or newly acquired backup Jameis Winston. This game will also display a player many were hoping the Chicago Bears could draft in the second round this year. Cesar Ruiz should find his way onto the Saints starting offensive line — most likely the right guard spot. Can the Bears defense take advantage of a rookie or will Ruiz prove he was worth the 24th overall pick?

This will be a tough matchup coming on a short week after battling the Rams. The Chicago Bears will start out strong as they feed off the win over the Rams on Monday night the week before, but the Saints are a more well-rounded team. The addition of Emmanuel Sanders in the offseason will also help the Saints air attack. This team will be too much for the Bears and the national media will write the Bears off once again as playoff contenders.

Prediction: Bears lose 27-14
