With Taylor Gabriel out of the picture, the door is now open for someone to step up as the offense’s No. 2 wideout. Third-year wide receiver Javon Wims could become the No. 2 receiver in the Bears’ offense. As for the slot, fellow three-year veteran Anthony Miller should continue to hold down that spot. Both Wims and Miller brings something different to the table, but both can be equally as vital to the offense’s production.

At six-foot-two, 221-pounds, Wims can be another big target in the passing game along with Chicago’s leading receiver Allen Robinson II. Wims played in all 16 regular-season games in 2019, and started in six of those contests. As for Miller, he started seven out of the 16 games last year, and was second on the team with 656 receiving yards.

With both entering their third year in Nagy’s offensive scheme, Wims and Miller should have very few problems navigating through the playbook. This would only leave the task of getting better acclimated to whoever the starting quarterback will be. And what better time to do so than the preseason.
