Who are the 14th and 13th most valuable players on the Chicago Bears 2020 roster?

We are now inside the top 15 of our 2020 Chicago Bears roster ranking. To recap the top 20:

20. Tashaun Gipson, 19. Mitch Trubisky 18. Jimmy Graham, 17. Bobby Massie, 16. Nick Foles, 15. Tarik Cohen.

With that in mind, who are numbers 14 and 13 on our list?

14. David Montgomery

Last Year: 20

As a rookie, he came in at number 20 and earned that ranking. Now, we see David Montgomery move up six spots. Montgomery did not wow on the stat sheet, but the advanced stats saw an upgrade from Jordan Howard. Montgomery is also locked into a big workload. Last year at this time, Mike Davis was still a part of this offense. The Bears did nothing to replace Davis and only put more faith in Montgomery this year. With a lot of shuffling at quarterback, the Bears need to rely on their skill players. That applies to David Montgomery and the run game.

13. Danny Trevathan

Last Year: 8

2018 Rank: 7

Danny Trevathan has been a core piece of this team and a top ten player on the Bears for the past three seasons. However, after yet another injury-plagued season he slips back, just a little bit. When he is on the field, he has been extremely capable. However, he is 30 years old now and has missed a lot of time with injuries. They could catch up to him at any moment.

Even in his current state of health, the Bears should be cautious and have backup plans ready. Trevathan has missed time in the three of the past four years, so assuming this year will be different is working in the dark. The injuries are the only thing pushing him this far down.
