How would you rank the NFC North running back rooms?

How do the Chicago Bears stack up against their rivals? As we go position by position ranking each NFC North team we should get a better look at where the Chicago Bears stand. Quarterback was not the Bears’ strongest point. Where do they rank at running back?

4. Chicago Bears

David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen, Cordarelle Patterson, Ryan Nall

You can make a stronger argument that running back should be higher than four than you can for quarterback. Still, there are some good backs, and the Bears have just enough questions to finish fourth here.

David Montgomery was an upgrade over Jordan Howard, but it wasn’t as noticeable as it could have been. Beyond that, Tarik Cohen saw serious regression with Trey Burton taking away bracket coverage.

Both would tell you that they are not coming off of strong 2019 seasons, and they both expect more in 2020. However, we need to see it. Lastly, what sealed the deal for the Bears ranking fourth is the depth. Ryan Nall has a great chance to be the third running back. Cordarelle Patterson is listed but is a gadget player, who has not been used right quite yet. There are questions everywhere, although promise in Montgomery and Cohen.
