One week into training camp, how have the quarterbacks for the Chicago Bears looked to date?

The quarterback battle between Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky was the most anticipated action heading into the Chicago Bears training camp. Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace were not shying away from the idea that there is a competition, and the reps at camp have reportedly been split evenly between the two.

To start the first sessions off, Trubisky had the advantage. Ryan Pace publicly noted that he is in amazing shape right now, and Cordarrelle Patterson added that he is in a different mood leadership wise. Trubisky spent the offseason gathering teammates to workout together, and he showed up with a connection between them, and trust from them that it is his team.

On the other side, Nick Foles has been taking time playing catch up. He found a connection with Ted Ginn but overall has been behind in finding that connection with teammates that Trubisky has. Also, when it comes to physical appearance, he will not beat Trubisky no matter what he does.

However, while Foles has been trying to catch up to Trubisky in the competition, Trubisky has not been able to extend on this lead. He made a mental gaffe in practice that erases a lot of the positive traits he showed earlier in the week. The biggest question with him is between the ears, so to see his decision-making stay where it has to hurt his chances.

Still, there has not been enough push from Foles at this point to make enough noise and unseat Trubisky. The Bears would like to find a winner, but so far Trubisky has not lost the battle, and that gives him the edge for week one. Still, Matt Nagy noted that it will likely be all the way up until the week of the regular season when the Bears make the official announcement.
