Chicago Bears must trade for this position today
There is only one trade that the Chicago Bears need to make and we know what it is for
There are going to be rumors and discussions flying around the Chicago Bears during the trade deadline. While the skill player positions will be the talk of the deadline in this fantasy-driven world, the reality is that the Chicago Bears do not need to spend on a flashy name.
They do, however, need to make a trade for a specific position. They need a non-flashy, no-nonsense left guard who can help them finish out the rest of the NFL season.
The fact of the matter is that we have seen the Rashaad Coward experiment at left guard. It is going even worse than at right guard. He started off showing signs against a weak Carolina defense. From there, he has been manhandled and confused in losses.
Chicago Bears fans are screaming for Alex Bars to start. The reality is that if Coward has this much rope over Bars, they must really know what they have in Bars.
There is no one on the current roster who can make things better. They need to find a left guard by the end of today.
We have highlighted some key names that are not going to cost an arm and a leg to acquire. James Carpenter and Senio Kelemete are two of the bigger names to keep an eye on. Atlanta and Houston are out of the running respectively and both have other options capable of starting on the roster.
So, as you hear rumors about Allen Robinson, Mitch Trubisky, or some superstar from another team, remember that is very unlikely for Chicago. What the Bears need to be doing this afternoon is searching the market for any potential left guard who can step in and start.
