The Chicago Bears need to feed Allen Robinson throughout their Monday Night game against the Minnesota Vikings

Allen Robinson has consistently produced for the Chicago Bears through their 2020 offensive struggles. Even while some stats have come in garbage time, Robinson has always been able to display his physical and athletic dominance on the football field.

What makes the start to the 2020 season so impressive for Robinson is that he also has ran into a slew of talented cornerbacks who have been in his face throughout the game.

After a relatively easy matchup in Week One, Robinson has primarily squared off with

James Bradberry, Darqueze Dennard, Xavier Rhodes, Carlton Davis, Rasul Douglas, Jalen Ramsey, Marshon Lattimore, and Malcolm Butler.

Dennard is the lowest name on the list, and Robinson finished with over 100 yards in a win. Still, Dennard was playing good football before being injured in that week’s three-game. He just came back. Rasul Douglas has had big games against Mike Evans, DeAndre Hopkins, and Mike Williams this year as well.

With high paid studs such as Rhodes, Bradberry, Ramsey, Lattimore, and Butler included with the up-and-coming Davis, and Douglas, that was one heck of a tough run for Robinson. With players such as Rhodes, Bradberry, Ramsey, Lattimore, and Davis, you are talking about long, physical cornerbacks who match up well with Robinson.

Why is all of this being brought up? Because for the first time since week one, week three after Dennard got hurt, Robinson has an easy matchup almost no matter how you look at it.

The Vikings have not announced their starting cornerbacks and they have been shuffling names due to injuries. However, there is a good chance that Kris Boyd, Chris Jones, and Jeff Gladney will be their three cornerbacks.

If any of their corners were to follow Robinson, it would be Gladney. However, in three-wide sets, Gladney plays the slot most often.

Boyd is undersized, with shorter arms, and has struggled with the likes of Corey Davis, and Marquez Valdez-Scantling.

Chris Jones played for the Detroit Lions in week three. By week nine, he was allowing a big catch to his former teammate Danny Amendola with the Vikings. If Boyd and Jones are the two set to cover Allen Robinson, the Vikings are in for big trouble.

You can laugh at the idea and say that the offense is so bad, but you see the list of corners Robinson has faced. Looking at who he has to take on this week should have Robinson salivating, and it should mean that the Bears offense has a better chance this week.
