3. Cody Whitehair

One of the most disappointing Chicago Bears so far is Cody Whitehair. Things starter poorly when the Indianapolis Colts had their way with him. Whitehair rebounded, but his play never quite got back to its top level. After a tough game against Aaron Donald, Whitehair left early with a calf injury.

Whitehair came back for a huge game against the Minnesota Vikings, but played poorly and looked like a shell of his former self. It is fair to assume that Whitehair may have played through an injury after the Colts game, and then even came back from missing time a big too early as well.

That is no surprise as many NFL players fight through injury in a similar manner. Still, this has been impacting Whitehair on the field in a big way.

With the bye week, Whitehair gets a huge week to rest. After playing against the Vikings it is clear he is closer than he was to be at full strength. Perhaps the rest this week could get him back up to par for a stretch. The reality is that the Chicago Bears need it.
