Mitch Trubisky can build upon his leadership with the Chicago Bears

As a quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky has never been a bad leader. Still, he has been criticized at times for not seeming to have control of his offense and not being able to form a rhythm with his playmakers. Part of the reason Nick Foles was brought in was for his leadership and experience, and his ability to learn an offense and bring them together.

If a team is going to consider Mitch Trubisky to be a leader of an offense, they need to see him holding himself and his teammates accountable. Also, teams need to see Trubisky commanding the game on the field and the sidelines. We have seen clips of Foles on the sidelines talking with his offense explaining and breaking down situations. Trubisky needs to do more of this in order to show his leadership as a quarterback.

The quarterback is expected to be the leader of the offense, as well as a team leader. Even though Foles has not been super successful with the Bears so far, he has had control of the offense on the field, and he has been a true leader off the field. The way he has handled the press and media has shown maturity and is what Mitch Trubisky needs to learn from. Trubisky has never been bad with handling criticism, but he needs to figure out how to learn from his mistakes and improve.

The Bears are familiar with Trubisky, therefore, it should not be a rough transition back to him as the quarterback. If he can show early command of this offense and better leadership qualities in the next few games, then he has a shot to really improve his offseason stock and put himself on a few teams’ radars.
