David Montgomery could dominate in the playoffs for the Chicago Bears

The second-year back has truly taken over this offense in recent weeks. He has the fifth-most rushing yards this year with 1,001 yards and 4.4 YPA, according to Pro Football Focus.

Now a lot of this goes to the credit of offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. The Bears offense has utilized Montgomery more, with more outside zone runs and with a more successful offensive linemen group.

Montgomery’s success in the run game has also opened up success in the passing game. Mitch Trubisky looks more comfortable in this Lazor offense that features more play-action; a team can’t be successful here without a strong run game.

Should the Bears be a playoff team in 2020, expect Montgomery to be a key part of their postseason success, as the Bears will need to utilize his vision and burst to bury teams early.
