The Chicago Bears will see a new face in Detroit (kind of)

Now for the Detroit Lions. The Lions have been the laughing stock of this division for a long time. The only bright spot they had going for them each season was that they always could fall back on quarterback Matthew Stafford. Even though he has always been good, the Lions have completely wasted Matthew Stafford’s career.

As of yesterday, the Lions just traded the guy who’s been there for the last 11 years in Stafford. Not only did the Lions get Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff, but they also got two first-round picks. As much as I love Stafford, Detroit got a good haul for him and is finally looking in the right direction.

The Lions just recently hired Dan Campbell as their new head coach. Campbell looks like he’s going to bring much-needed energy and grit to this team. Their running back DeAndre is Swift has a lot of promise and they have some guys on defense that look very sharp as well.

Their number one receiver Kenny Golladay is a free agent but might want to stay based on the team’s recent actions. The team can always franchise tag him too. Goff, Swift, Hockenson, and Golladay is a nice young core to build around. I’m not saying the Lions will be in the Super Bowl, but they’re not far out from a playoff spot. I think Campbell is going to change this franchise.
