The new explosive Chicago Bears weapons

The Bears already had some explosive weapons on their offense in both Darnell Mooney and Tarik Cohen, but Pace said that’s not enough. So, Pace brought in some competition at wide receiver for explosive weapons. Pace brought in two fast and speedy wide receivers in Marquise Goodwin and Damiere Byrd. Both have had solid careers thus far and could find a home in Chicago as a deep-threat or gimmicky-threat.

Outside of those two added, Pace additionally drafted deep-threat Dazz Newsome out of North Carolina. Newsome isn’t a speed demon by any means like the other two, but he is a home-run threat from the slot who had 10 touchdowns in 2019.

At the running back position, Pace replaced Cordarrelle Patterson with a rookie in the NFL Draft in Khalil Herbert. Another home run hitter, Herbert averaged 8.9 yards per carry in 2019 and 7.6 yards per carry in 2020 rushing for 1,183 yards. He was a threat in the return game as well averaging 26.9 yards per kickoff return.

Pace brought in veteran running back Damien Williams as well who has experience in a similar offense ran in Kansas City and tore up the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in 2019. Williams has a high percentile in both his 40-yard dash and his speed rating according to Player Profiler. Overall, Nagy now has a plethora of weapons at his disposal along with elite wide receiver Allen Robinson.
