Surprise No. 1: Khalil Herbert fights for RB3
After trading up to make their first two selections, the Bears didn’t draft another player until day three of the NFL Draft. Among those draftees, was former Virginia Tech RB, Khalil Herbert in the sixth round.
With Tarik Cohen coming back from his injury, he should have the backup role all but locked up. However, third-string, may not be quite as obvious. The Bears have a couple of players returning in Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce, to go along with a veteran in Damien Williams.
Of course, Williams opted out of the 2020 season so we will have to see exactly where he is at physically but on paper, he may be the favorite to win the job. There’s certainly some talent in this backfield so Herbert will have his work cut out for him.
