2021 Chicago Bears Roster Rank No. 25: Will Kindle Vildor start?
We are now onto number the top 25 in our ranking of Chicago Bears players. The list started all the way back at 90 and now is here with just a few days until the Chicago Bears report to training camp. Remember that this list is looking solely at the player’s potential value for the 2021 roster and is not worried about their past value. This is just how important it is for them to perform this year for the Bears.
No. 25 Chicago Bears CB Kindle Vildor
The Chicago Bears cornerback situation is very muddled. Kindle Vildor ranks one spot ahead of Duke Shelley, but in week one Shelley may be starting in the slot with Vildor on the bench. However, with Desmond Trufant on the outside and his long list of injuries, something says that Vildor is going to see the field.
Beyond that, even if Shelley struggled, Vildor would probably be quick to get called up to the slot. Many would say that Vildor should start ahead of Shelley, and he may but he does not have experience in the slot that Shelley does.
However, when both were on the field together, Vildor was better. Beyond that coaches have talked up Vildor and mentioned not discount him from the slot corner competition.
So, Vildor is the ultimate utility man. He is the first man off the bench in the slot and on the outside. With so many questions at both spots, he should be looked at as a starter who will get that type of work by the end of the season.
