One thing is certain for 2021, and that’s the fact that the Chicago Bears quarterback situation is going to be a hot topic throughout the season.

No more Mitchell Trubisky. Nick Foles remains. Enter Andy Dalton and Justin Fields.

With so much change at the most important position, the biggest question for Chicago entering this season is whether or not these changes will actually lead to measurable results, and can head coach Matt Nagy finally get to run his offense?

In this episode of The Chicago Audible, the guys finish their annual summer series “Countdown to Camp” — where they go episode-by-episode previewing every position (and player) on the Chicago Bears — the guys share their in-depth preview (and discussion on) the quarterbacks.

What should we expect from Chicago Bears quarterbacks?

One thing is for certain, Bears Fans are just chomping at the bit to see rookie Justin Fields as early as possible.

But just when will we get to see fields in action? That’s currently a mystery, but it feels as if it’s almost a certainty that Fields will make his debut as a rookie.

Fields is already proving himself to be a student of the game and a tremendous teammate and leader. Nagy has said that everyone will know when the time is right for Fields. What are some of the signs to watch for?

Even though Fields has all of the potential in the world, what are some of the challenges he will face as a rookie? And what attributes does he possess that you should be watching for at camp and in the preseason?

Before the Bears drafted Fields, they signed Andy Dalton to a one-year contract. Even though Dalton doesn’t provide the same type of excitement as the rookie, he provides this offense with a sense of stability that should not go unnoticed.

What type of quarterback are the Bears getting in Dalton? Does his previous experience with current offensive coordinator Bill Lazor raise his ceiling? Can he improve the offense and win enough games to enable Chicago to be patient with Fields?

And don’t forget about Nick Foles. Unless the Bears end up finding a trade partner, he will be a part of this team. If he remains in Chicago, what value does he have at this juncture?

Can the Bears get the most of the quarterback play this season and reach new heights on offense in 2021?

The guys also make some season stat predictions for the unit, play some over/under and discuss a few additional superlatives along the way.

As always, the guys at The Chicago Audible, have you covered.
