During the initial 53-man roster fans are warned that things will change in the next day or so. However, it does not stop them from panicking when the initial roster has quirky odds and ends. For example, this year fans were confused about the linebacker and cornerback room. 24 hours later, we got more answers.

So, while everyone will look at the initial 53, it is already rather inaccurate as many players were placed on IR, moved to waivers, and picked up off waivers or off of the practice squad.

Let us reset and view the roster now about 36 hours after the initial cut down.

Quarterback (3): Andy Dalton, Justin Fields, Nick Foles

Nothing changed here and nothing will.

Running back (3): David Montgomery, Damien Williams, Khalil Herbert

The same room at running back is in place.

Wide Receiver (5)** Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, Marquise Goodwin, Damiere Byrd, Nsimba Webster

**Breshad Perriman

Even as we write this, we know that the roster is about to change once again. Perriman was reportedly going to sign with Chicago, but the team has 53 men and they need to make a move first. They also claimed Webster, who will be their return man, and moved Rodney Adams to waivers with hopes that all teams filled their rosters and will not claim him.

Tight End (5): Jimmy Graham, Cole Kmet, Jesse James, JP Holtz, Jesper Horsted

This would be the best guess of where a player goes to make room for Perriman. It is either Holtz, who may go to the IR, or Horsted, who may be on the Adams path to the practice squad.

Offensive Line (9): Jason Peters, Cody Whitehair, Sam Mustipher, James Daniels, Germain Ifedi, Larry Borom, Elijah Wilkinson, Lachavious Simmons, Alex Bars

This has not really changed in the past day or so. They clearly wanted more tackle depth than guard.

Defensive Line (5):  Akiem Hicks, Bilal Nichols, Eddie Goldman, Angelo Blackson, Khyiris Tonga

With Mario Edwards on the suspension list, the team was able to carry an extra player elsewhere.

Edge Rushers (4): Khalil Mack, Robert Quinn, Trevis Gipson, Jeremiah Attachou

These are the four that were expected to be here. Charles Snowden made the practice squad, as expected.

Linebacker (6): Roquan Smith, Alec Ogletree, Christian Jones, Caleb Johnson, Joel Iyiegbuniwe, Josh Woods

Seven linebackers were too many, and now Danny Trevathan is on the IR with a designation to return. Still, six is a lot, and one of these back-end players may be the move to get Perriman on the roster if it is not a tight end.

Cornerback (5): Jaylon Johnson, Artie Burns, Kindle Vildor, Duke Shelley, Xavier Crawford

The team had four corners yesterday and now have their fifth in Artie Burns. This is actually not a surprising group after you consider the Desmond Trufant news.

Safety (5): Eddie Jackson, Tashaun Gipson, Marqui Christian, Deon Bush, DeAndre Houston-Carson

The Bears were able to add Christian back after moving Trevathan to the IR.

Specialists (3): Cairo Santos, Pat O’Donnell, Patrick Scales
