10. Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will total 10 receiving touchdowns
The basis of this prediction stands on just how tight Fields became with third-string tight end Jesse James. All throughout training camp, beat reporters and fans raved about the relationship between those two.
The thing is, Fields had no greater opportunity for a tight end connection than James. He played the majority of camp with the second and third-string offense. Once he gets rolling this season, Fields will utilize Cole Kmet in a similar fashion. The Bears want Kmet to become the focal point of that tight end room. That’s what they drafted him to be.
Especially in the red zone, where Fields’ mobility becomes an issue for defenses, it will be easy to lose sight of the tight end. This is where Kmet will feast.
Over the course of his rookie season, Fields will have a couple of security blankets. The first one will be Allen Robinson, while the second one will be Kmet. Every rookie quarterback needs those types, and the Bears have given him two. Kmet was drafted with high capital as the best tight end in last year’s class, and the offense will set out to prove he was worthy of the pick. Fields will make sure of it.
