Well, that was not exactly how I saw Week 1 going for the Chicago Bears. If you recall, I did think the Rams were going to win, but it was how the game went that shocked me. The over/under on the game opened at 44.0 last week and I had the under with a 24-17 victory for the Rams. Matthew Stafford is clearly that much better than Jared Goff with how he played Sunday night.
The Chicago Bears cannot sit and pout though. They need to turn their attention already to the Cincinnati Bengals. A Bengals team coming off an opening season victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
Now, the Chicago Bears must reflect, focus and grind throughout this week. Matt Nagy needs to expand his playbook to include routes further than 15 yards. He needs to spread the defense and not let them crowd the line of scrimmage because they know it will be a short pass or run. The play-calling must improve or this team will lose again.
The only positive the Chicago Bears have going for them is that the NFC North did not win a single game last week. This gives the Bears a great opportunity to bounce back. Let’s see what Vegas thinks of this game as we check the WynnBET app/desktop.
Bears vs Bengals Odds Week 2
The Week 2 betting odds on WynnBET have the Bears as -3.0 favorites at home. Seeing that home teams are often given a three-point advantage when setting odds, it seems like the oddsmakers find this game to essentially be a “pick-em”. I am a little surprised based on how both teams played. The Bengals put up 27 points, while the Bears only scored 14. They probably figure it’s too early to fully judge a team, but these two teams couldn’t have looked any different.
WynnBET has the Bears Moneyline at -150 (bet $150 to win $100). The Bengals are at +130 (bet $100 to win $130). The total for the game is set at an over/under of 45.0 points.
Bears vs Bengals Prediction Week 2
These two teams have not faced off against one another since 2017. That was a great day for the Chicago Bears as they beat the Bengals 33-7. Both teams were bottom feeders though as the Bears were a 5-11 team and the Bengals finished 7-9. Jordan Howard dominated this game with 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Mitch Trubisky had a solid day as a rookie too. He finished 25/32 with 271 yards and a touchdown.
These teams are very different now. In fact, Andy Dalton was quarterbacking that 2017 Bengals team. Now he’s here in Chicago — crazy world. Watching Joe Burrow air it out for the Bengals makes me wonder just how soon we will see Justin Fields start this season. When it comes to this game, I am going to, unfortunately, suggest that you take the Bengals and the points. Matt Nagy does not instill confidence and that defense looks like swiss cheese. Bengals 28 – Bears 20.
