It felt great to watch the Chicago Bears take care of business against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in that 20-17 win — the first of the season for Chicago. After Andy Dalton went down with a knee injury, Justin Fields stepped in and helped lead the team to its first victory of 2021.
Of course, Fields received plenty of help from the Bears’ defense — a defense that had three-straight picks on Burrow in the second half. There was plenty to be happy about after the win, but at the same time, plenty to work on for Chicago.
Now with a couple of days to relish the victory, it’s time to turn our attention to the next opponent, the (1-1) Cleveland Browns.
Chicago Bears meet the opponent: Cleveland Browns
Fresh off their victory against the Houston Texans, the Browns are eyeing a second-straight home win when the Bears come to town on Sunday afternoon.
After two weeks, the Browns possess one of the NFL’s most potent rushing attacks, averaging 154.5 yards per game. Baker Mayfield (despite playing through a shoulder injury) has been one of the more efficient quarterbacks in the league and possesses the highest completion percentage in the NFL at 81.6 percent to go along with the second-highest yards per attempt (10.9).
How will the Browns challenge the Bears?
That’s what Mason West and I set out to explore in this interview with the crew over at the Dawgs of War Podcast, which is the official Browns podcast of Dawg Pound Daily.
In this episode, we gain firsthand insight into the following:
- Browns’ top-three rushing attack in the NFL
- What impact does Jarvis Landry’s injury has on the Browns’ offense
- The Browns’ heavy reliance on the tight end position
- A strong understanding of where Cleveland’s defense stands after two weeks
- What the opponent believes the keys are for the Browns to beat the Bears on Sunday.
