Fans have wanted the Chicago Bears to let Matt Nagy go for two years now. However, while this is what fans want, it has been clear that ownership saw things differently, and may reports were that he seat for Nagy was not all that hot last year. However, it did bring a make or break mentality into the 2021 season.

With the Chicago Bears starting off 1-2, and Justin Fields having a historically bad rookie debut, the calls for Nagy to be fired have been picked up again by the fans. Only this time there may be something to it.

Here is a tweet from Benjamin Allbright, an NFL insider. He seems to think it is not if, but rather when for Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears to part ways.

It is important to differentiate the reporting and speculation. He is saying the Bears should go for Greg Roman, which is his preference. However, when he says “and he will be after this season” that is putting your name behind something.

Allbright believes that Nagy will be done after this season and it is only a matter of time. Whether he is correct or not, time will only be the judge.

However, aside from any fan cries, this is the first respected media person who has put it out there that this will be the end. Not should, but will.

With that in mind, it is at least worth looking into and wondering about. Is Allbright just speculating and taking a good guess, or did he want to get in front of a swarm of reports that may come in the next few weeks about Nagy and his job status. Either way, the rumors are hotter now than they ever have been.
