Well, another week of NFL football and another loss for the Chicago Bears. With that loss, the Bears are on a three-game losing streak, and although this game had flashes, it was all for naught.

Thankfully, this game wasn’t as gut-wrenching to watch as the 38-3 slaughter they withstood last week.

Justin Fields called a ‘breakout game’ for the Chicago Bears offense

Going into this game, however, Justin Fields alluded to a breakout game coming this week for the offense. And, well, let’s just say he wasn’t completely wrong. It was somewhat there, but the defense struggled heavily against Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

Now, does this play correlate to the fact that Matt Nagy was unable to coach due to COVID-19? I’m saying yes.

While I absolutely hope nothing close to bad comes from Matt Nagy having COVID-19, my frustrations with him were well cemented far before he got this illness. That being said, the Bears’ offense looked a lot better than it’s looked in the four years that Matt Nagy’s worn the headset.

However, with the good, there’s likely bad; and in this case — boy was there some bad.

There was some really bad, too, if we look at it. Most of the bad, however, came from the side of the ball that Justin Fields isn’t on. But, it was bad nonetheless.

Luckily for me, I’m covering the most disappointing Chicago Bears in this matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, so with that let’s get started.
