With the Chicago Bears yet to start their head coaching search, rumors have flown every which way about what direction the team will go. Since they are not doing anything yet, there are plenty of wild ideas being thrown out there and nobody can really shut anything down because we do not have a clue.

However, while the Chicago Bears surely could hire whoever they want, there are a few names that would be rather surprising, and would certainly bring questions.

3. Mike Kafka

Mike Kafka has the fact that he is from Chicago on his side, and he played at Northwestern. However, while they are obviously different people, when you bring up what Kafka has going for him and compare it to where Matt Nagy was four years ago, you are basically just doing the Spiderman meme.

Kafka was drafted by Andy Reid, who then brought him onto his staff. Kafka has climbed the offensive charts working with quarterbacks and having his hands involved in offensive play calling.

You may forget by now but I just described what Matt Nagy to get hired. He was not drafted, but was signed by Reid and climbed the coaching staff in the same exact manner.

Again, Kafka and Nagy are different, and Kafka cannot be punished because of Nagy. Still, for the Chicago Bears in particular, it is way too close to what they just moved on from.
