I think it is known that I am a bigger Dave Toub fan than most. He isn’t in my top five any longer as this process has been very fluid. I’m trying not to be too overreactive as we see success and failure by every coaching candidate each week. Plus, it is difficult to measure a special teams coach’s success like we do an offensive or defensive coordinator.

Obviously, the Kansas City Chiefs have been playing well lately. The team has had very complete games lately and is riding an eight-game winning streak. If it were up to me, I would have Dave Toub’s stock on the rise, but these guys just don’t see the recognition that the hot offensive and defensive coordinators see.

Even back in November, when the team was struggling offensively one game and defensively the next, the Chiefs’ special teams play has been superb. The team was first across the board in special teams DVOA back in November and remains second today.
