Here are just a few more names that could be considered by the Chicago Bears

Here are a few quick-hitting names that could be given interviews as the Chicago Bears’ next offensive coordinator.

Luke Getsy – Green Bay Packers, Quarterbacks Coach / Passing Game Coordinator

There are some rumors floating around that Luke Getsy could find his way south to Chicago. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated has linked Matt Eberflus to Luke Getsy. I don’t see where they crossed paths, but Breer says there’s a relationship there. Getsy was getting interviews this offseason as the Broncos’ head coach and Panthers’ offensive coordinator position. Maybe he gets another here in Chicago.

Klint Kubiak – Minnesota Vikings, Offensive Coordinator

Mike Zimmer was fired in Minnesota and Klint Kubiak is likely going to need a new job. He has interviewed for the Panthers offensive coordinator opening, but could he be a candidate for the Chicago Bears too? Klint Kubiak is the son of Gary Kubiak and obviously learned from his father who is considered one of the better coaches and offensive minds.

Klint Kubiak worked his way up in Minnesota as a quarterbacks coach before taking over as the offensive coordinator last year. The Vikings finished 12th in yards and 14th in points. I think his scheme would fit well with Justin Fields and David Montgomery too.

Joe Brady – Former Carolina Panther Offensive Coordinator

Many believe that Joe Brady should get another shot as an offensive coordinator after failing in Carolina over the last two years. The Panthers’ offense started out hot this year with Sam Darnold and then Darnold and the offense fell off a cliff. It didn’t help they lost Christian McCaffrey in both years. In 2020, McCaffrey only played in three games. Last year he played in seven.

Brady was an offensive assistant with New Orleans in 2017 and 2018, then he was a hot name after LSU’s passing attack looked amazing when Brady was the passing game coordinator in 2019. This performance led to his time in Carolina and rumors are Brady wants to stay in the NFL and not go back to the collegiate ranks. Rumors are he’s even spoken to a few teams already.

Alright, I think this should get us started. The Chicago Bears are rumored to be interviewing offensive coordinator candidates over the weekend. This hire is just as important as the hiring of Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus. The development of Justin Fields is what will either propel this organization into relevancy or drag them back into the basement of the NFL.
