3. Monte Kiffin

Monte Kiffin is known as the man who brought the Tampa-2 to the NFL. Coaches such as Raheem Morris and Mike Tomlin won rings with Morris on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2013, Kiffin was hired to replace Ryan with the Cowboys. It was a great opportunity for Eberflus.

As noted in the thread below, Rob Ryan is much more aggressive with his looks, and how he blitzes. Monte Kiffin, on the other hand, likes to play the plays and plays fast. The fact that these two both have track records with different methods rubbed off well on Eberflus.

Matt Eberflus only coached under Monte Kiffin for two seasons, but those two seasons obviously rubbed off on him in a positive manner. It advanced his career and set him up for the next two coaches who also had extreme influences on his coaching career.

Being able to work with such differing minds who have different plans of attack on defense speaks to his ability to adjust to his talent.
