The Chicago Bears could pursue tight end C.J. Uzomah

An enormous fan favorite in Cincinnati, tight end C.J. Uzomah worked his tail off to come back from a knee injury to play in the Super Bowl. Over the past couple of years, the tight end position has been somewhat of a forgettable area for Cincinnati. Whether it’s because of the injuries to Tyler Eifert, or the fact that Joe Burrow targets his wide receivers far more, this position has taken a back seat.

But, over his last four games, Uzomah has been targeted 27 times (not including the game against Kansas City when he was injured). During that span, he has caught 22 of those passes, including one for a score.

Uzomah isn’t talked about as one of the premier tight ends in this league, but he is sneaky good. He can stretch the field and has far more athleticism than people give him credit for. Not to mention, he’s an above-average blocker.

In Chicago right now, they have Cole Kmet starting, with Jimmy Graham’s contract ending. Behind Kmet, there isn’t much. Hopefully, the Bears get Jesper Horsted some more action. But, other than he and Kmet, there isn’t a lot. Uzomah would be a highly underrated signing for this offense.
