10 free agents connected to new Chicago Bears leadership

The Chicago Bears could purse free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas
While Luke Getsy comes to the Bears as an offensive guy, don’t count out the fact that a defensive free agent could sign in Chicago by way of Green Bay. The Packers have plenty of decisions to make this offseason when it comes to their cap situation, and Rasul Douglas may be victim of Green Bay simply not having enough money.
The Packers have to figure out how to keep Aaron Rodgers happy, which means retaining Davante Adams as well. They’re already well over the cap and have much work to do in order to make it feasible to accomplish their goal.
Last year, Douglas was one of the biggest surprises in Green Bay. He had a run where he picked off four passes in four games and returned two of them for touchdowns.
This is a player to watch, for sure, in free agency. Douglas might get overpaid because of his “flash in the pan” type of stretch last year, but maybe he goes for a reasonable cost. There’s no telling what his contract will look like.
One thing is for sure, though: Douglas is a ball hawk. The ball finds him constantly, and that’s the type of player the Bears need in their secondary. They have truly lacked a guy who finds the football, back there, for a couple of years now.
