The Chicago Bears could trade Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles

In this first trade scenario, the Bears ship Quinn over to the Philadelphia Eagles. Last season, the Eagles’ defense was one of the worst units in football when it came to generating pressure. In total, Philadelphia tallied 29.0 sacks — good for the second-worst number in the league.

This offseason, the Eagles have a few free agents that they have to make decisions on. Defensive linemen Derek Barnett, Hassan Ridgeway and Ryan Kerrigan are all entering free agency, as is outside linebacker Genard Avery.

Barnett was supposed to be their franchise cornerstone in terms of a sack master, but in five seasons, the former first-round pick has totaled just 21.5 sacks for the Eagles after being a standout at Tennessee.

In this deal, the Bears get a third-rounder (pick 83) and a sixth-rounder (pick 192) in the upcoming draft. The Eagles, meanwhile, get Quinn and the highest of the two fifth-rounders (pick 144) from Chicago.

With that meaningful third-rounder, the Bears could go after a position of need and find a key starter.
