1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Green Bay Packers

You all thought this would be Davante Adams, right? The reality is that while Davante Adams has spoken highly of Luke Getsy, the Chicago Bears would still have to win a bidding contest. Getsy just gets them in the sweepstakes that they otherwise would not be in.

Beyond that, the Green Bay Packers are going to franchise tag him, so even if he refuses to play, it would take a trade to acquire him. On the flip side, the Packers may try to retain Marquez Valdes-Scantling and just see him walk away. This could be where Luke Getsy comes in.

MVS is obviously familiar with Luke Getsy and the two have been in the same building together since 2019. Getsy would at least let the team know if this is a player worth banking on, or if the boom or bust nature of his play is not worth that risk.

That will help in itself. If Getsy buys into MVS he could be a great benefit to the offense. His size and speed combination is hard to match. He can drop a big pass just as often as make the game-changing play, but that is what is going to bring him for much cheaper than other options. At the least it helps to have a name on the inside who could speak to what he brings.
