The Chicago Bears select offensive lineman, Alec Lindstrom – Boston College

Ryan Poles finally (seems like it took forever) selects an offensive lineman in the 2022 NFL Draft. The thing is, remember this team only had five picks and still only has five picks. Instead of a second, third, two fifths and sixth-rounder, due to trades, the Bears finished with a first, fourth and three fifth-rounders.

Selecting an offensive lineman like Alec Lindstrom in the fifth round would be fantastic. I have a third-round grade on Lindstrom, but centers constantly seem to fall in the NFL draft. Not that it matters, but Lindstrom’s brother was a first-round pick in 2019 and he follows him and his father who also played football in the NFL. All three were offensive linemen and it shows in Lindstrom’s technical mechanics.

Ryan Poles is probably a little impartial to drafting a guy like Lindstrom too seeing he also went to Boston College and was an offensive lineman. Lindstrom could step in and take over the starting center spot from Sam Mustipher. He’d have his struggles, but I’d be more willing to play though his rookie mistakes than watch Mustipher snap the ball as the starting center in 2022.
