Possible Target No. 5: Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson

After the 2018 season, the idea of Justyn Ross being a day two prospect seemed unthinkable. Ross put up 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns on a whopping 21.7 yards per reception to help Clemson win the CFP. It seemed like Ross was on pace to join the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, Martavius Bryant, and Mike Williams as Clemson’s next great receiver.

Unfortunately, Ross was never able to match his 2018 campaign. He underwent spinal surgery that caused him to miss the entire 2020 season and finished with 514 yards and three touchdowns in 2021.

Ross has some of the best size and length of any receiver in this class. He stands 6’4 and weighs 205 pounds. Ross offers much of the same physicality and contested-catch ability that Pickens does, but has a more complete route tree. Even with his size, Ross can be moved around as played a good amount of slot and outside at Clemson.

Ross is one of the toughest evaluations. He looked like a future top ten pick his freshman season and was never able to recapture that magic. But he was also held back by some of the worst quarterback play in Power 5 football this past year. Talents like Ross don’t slip to the second day very often, and rolling the dice on him could pay off.
