The 2022 NFL Combine is here, and all invited prospects will be checking in and going through their measurements as we speak. For fans of the Chicago Bears, one of the most important days starts on March 3.

Thursday, the wide receivers take the field, along with a couple of other position groups. But, wide receiver is going to be one of the most-watched groups of the entire week, as it usually is.

Between the 40-yard dash, bench press, jump drills, and on-field football drills, the receivers are typically one of the most entertaining positions in the entire combine. They will be especially fun to watch this year, considering the Bears’ current need.

New general manager Ryan Poles has his work cut out for him at wide receiver, and also some limited draft capital to work with.

With limited draft picks, the Chicago Bears still have plenty of excellent and realistic receiver targets to watch at the 2022 NFL Combine

One of the Bears’ top priorities this offseason, and maybe in the draft, is to find a legitimate number one receiver to replace Allen Robinson. Last year, Darnell Mooney turned into the de facto number one because Robinson didn’t have too much chemistry with Justin Fields, nor did Robinson put in the effort all of the time.

Mooney and Dazz Newsome are the only receivers in the Bears’ receiving corps right now, but the team could choose to re-sign guys like Jakeem Grant, Marquise Goodwin or Damiere Byrd.

The majority of receivers worth watching for the Bears this week are going to fall in those second and third rounds. There is a ton of talent at wide receiver in this year’s class, so the Bears not possessing a first-rounder isn’t as big of a deal as some might think.

There are also some worth monitoring who will fall a little later, too. These five receivers will be some of the best names to watch, though, and some could end up becoming a huge value.
