5 aging defensive free agents the Chicago Bears could sign

The Chicago Bears should risk signing free agent cornerback Joe Haden
After the Cleveland Browns once figured former first-round pick Joe Haden was done, he went to a divisional rival and proved otherwise. The past five seasons with Pittsburgh have been mostly good for Haden, who made a Pro Bowl with the Steelers in 2019.
From 2018-to 2020, Haden turned back the clock a little bit and more than held his own as a starting cornerback in this league. He was a big part of the Steelers’ defense making a leap and sticking around as one of the league’s best units when healthy.
Last year, though, was a down year for Haden. In 2021, he allowed an opposing quarterback rating of 100.1 and a completion percentage of 60.0. Haden will be 33 years old when the 2022 season kicks off, and he might not have a whole lot of football left in him.
But, if the Bears signed him to be their starter for this year, and maybe next year at the most, Haden could get it done. A best-case scenario would be to sign Haden to a short-term deal and also draft a guy to compete with him, letting the best man take the outside spot.
