These are WR options the Chicago Bears should consider signing on the cheap

These players should be signed relatively cheap or not at all in my opinion. Let me add, that I would have had Allen Lazard in the prior grouping, but he is a restricted free agent. Nothing official yet, but it sounds like he will get a second-round tender. The Bears (or any team) should not be giving the Packers a second-round pick for Lazard.

Odell Beckham, Jr., WR – Rams

He’d be much higher if not for a second ACL tear.

Jamison Crowder, WR – Jets

Crowder has had some seriously decent years, but coming off a $9.5 million dollar salary, I don’t think the Chicago Bears can get him cheap enough for my liking. Thus, why he’s here on the list.

Auden Tate, WR – Bengals

I was higher on Auden Tate than many others coming out of college. I thought he’d amount to more by now in his career. Maybe a change of scenery would help him?

Deonte Harris, WR – Saints

In this case, Deonte Harris is like Jamison Crowder. He’d be much higher on the list if not for the fact he’s expected to see between $6 and $8 million per year.

A.J. Green, WR – Cardinals

I doubt that Ryan Poles will be interested in A.J. Green due to his age, and I doubt Green would be interested in the Chicago Bears at this point of a rebuild.

T.Y. Hilton, WR – Colts

Age plays a big factor here. T.Y. Hilton has seen his production drop off quite a bit over the years while the injuries continue to pile up.

Tre’Quan Smith, WR – Saints

Another receiver with some upside. Smith is a former third-round draft pick who hasn’t done enough in New Orleans. That said, he has averaged four touchdowns per year and would make for a very solid WR3 or WR4 in the Chicago Bears offense.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR – Packers

Obviously, signing a guy like Marquez Valdes-Scantling would work schematically due to his experience with Bears offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy. That said, he’s not worth more than a few million.

Will Fuller, WR – Dolphins

A guy who is extremely talented, but cannot stay healthy. He’s going to be overpaid again and I don’t want him anywhere near the Chicago Bears roster.

When we look at the rest of the names, there are a few guys who the Chicago Bears could choose to add via free agency. However, you might as well throw a dart at any of these bottom names. Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, Tajae Sharpe, James Washington, Deandre Carter, Zach Pascal, Laquon Treadwell, Chester Rogers, Keelan Cole, and Equanimeous St. Brown are these dart throws. Any of them can be brought in to be the WR4 through WR6 and that’s fine with me.
