Chicago Bears: Round 3, Pick No. 71

The need for offensive linemen is clear for the Chicago Bears, and Nicholas Petit-Frere provides much-needed depth in the trenches. A former teammate of Fields, Petit-Frere brings versatility, as he has both played and started at right and left tackle. If the Bears plan to keep Teven Jenkins on the left side, Petit-Frere could be a solid option on the opposite end.

The Ohio State prospect is athletic, quick, and possesses a lot of solid pass-blocking tools. NFL scouts worry about his play strength and his ability to handle opponents who are stronger than him consistently. In a zone-heavy scheme, I believe Petit-Frere could be very viable. He’s used to protecting Fields, and there are no big concerns on my end as to why he can’t be doing so again.

The key here will be is if he actually falls to the third round. Petit-Frere has been mocked in the second and third round consistently, but falling to pick 71 might be a pipe dream. Let’s hope it plays out something like this though.
