The Chicago Bears have so many needs that there are so many directions they could go in the 2022 NFL draft. While many fans want to see a wide receiver with the first pick there are other signs that they may end up looking in a different direction.

With three picks in the top 75 picks, they have to try to walk away with three starters. Whether It be on the defensive line, offensive line, cornerback, wide receiver, or even linebacker, it appears that is where they have their sights set. Still, there are some spots in the draft that are stronger for positions than others. For instance, if you do not draft a cornerback in round two this year, it may be best to wait until day three to find value.

With that in mind, what are some of the most likely scenarios for the Bears on day two?

5. Cornerback – Wide Receiver – Offensive Line

As noted, if the Bears want to draft a cornerback who can start, they have to do it in round two. The run on cornerbacks will be fast, and after some of the top names fly off of the board, the class thins out and turns into sleepers to take shots on.

At pick 39 names such as Kaiir Elam, Andrew Booth, or Tariq Woolen could all be in play for the Chicago Bears.

Knowing they cannot get that type of athlete later in the draft would incentivize the team to go corner. Still, they can follow right up with a wideout. Reports are that Alec Pierce could be in play at pick 48, with 39 being too rich and 71 is too late.

Then, on the offensive line, the priority would likely be a guard over a tackle. Like cornerback, you cannot find tackles in round three of this draft. Still, Cole Strange is a riser and a player who fits the Chicago Bears in terms of versatility and athleticism.

The names could be moved around, but something like Kaiir Elam, Alec Pierce, and Cole Strange as a top-three is possible for the Chicago Bears.
