Pick 48 Chicago Bears Select Perrion Winfrey

This is a pick that is not quite as mocked but certainly has been discussed. The Chicago Bears may be taking a three-technique early in the 2022 NFL Draft. We know this because of how much value it appears the front office and coaching staff place on that role.

They went out and spent big on Larry Ogunjobi, but the move did not work out at the end of the day. Still, it now leaves them with the thought that they will want to replace this tonight. If they do not go with Logan Hall, Perrion Winfrey, or DeMarvin Leal it will be tough to find a match for the fit in this defense.

That means likely taking a three-technique before round three. So, with that in mind what Brugler mocked makes plenty of sense. On the field, Winfrey has traits that are similar to Ogunjobi. At times he can overshoot gaps and take himself out of plays, but the Bears will take that because the offset is the big plays in the backfield. That is what Winfrey would bring.
