6. Nicholas Morrow, LB

The Chicago Bears entered the offseason with a room left empty with little to no linebackers. Christian Jones, Danny Trevathan, and even Josh Woods and Joel Iyigebuniwe all left this offseason. The team did not do much to address the position, but one name that stood out was Nicholas Morrow.

The team did not spend big on Morrow, but the salary he got suggests that he will be the number two linebacker behind Roquan Smith. That was not only confirmed, but Morrow will be the trusted Robin to the batman of Smith.

Morrow was given time calling plays next to Roquan Smith. The Colts did this at times with Anthony Walker and Darius Leonard, and it led to Leonard being more of a playmaker, and Walker being more of the stable piece in the center of the defense.

In Chicago, it may be Morrow filling the role they had Walker in, with them hoping for Smith to become more of a playmaker, thanks to things that Morrow can see and call.

The fact that they have these big plans for Morrow is notable. Getting him to start calling plays at this point is notable. He gets to test it out and fail as much as he wants to here, then he gets six weeks to prove that he can handle it at training camp.

It will be interesting to see how the Bears do this because even Leonard and Walker split time with the green dot, and that may be what will happen here.
