2. Adam Shaheen,  45th overall

Of course, Adam Shaheen is the classic Ryan Pace pick. Anthony Miller is the personification of Pace being carless with future assets, while Shaheen is the peak of Pace reaching for small school upside to prove how sharp he is.

Shaheen was a top 50 pick from Ashland. To be fair, he did have more hype coming into the drat than Jordan Morgan. Still, a big gamble like that is setting up to be criticized.

Tight ends taken after Shaheen include Jonnu Smith and George Kittle. Immediate skill players taken after him include Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Taylor Moton and Dion Dawkins, two lock down tackles were selected after Adam Shaheen. That is what makes the gamble so much worse.

To be fair, Matt Nagy supposedly had big plans for Shaheen 2018 before he injured his ankle and ended his season. He was not the same in 2019 and Nagy benched him. The failed pick caused the team to draft Cole Kmet, and overpay Jimmy Graham. They are still dealing with the affects of the Adam Shaheen.
