Chicago Bears Rival – Vikings’ most overrated player: Patrick Peterson, CB

We move onto the second team within the NFC North and yet again come across a cornerback. In this situation, we are flipping the narrative though. Instead of a young player who has not been able to prove himself to this point, we now look at Patrick Peterson.

Peterson has proven himself to be one of the better corners in the NFL throughout his career. Seeing him on this list is likely to surprise many people. However, at the age of 31, Peterson’s game has started to drop off significantly. He has played 11 seasons to date and has eight Pro Bowls and three All-Pro selections to show for it. He’s not a scrub.

That said, at this point in his career, he is starting to be more of a name recognition than an actual player worth concerning yourself when gameplanning against the Vikings. This isn’t to say that Peterson is bad at this point either. He had an above-average season last year in regards to advanced stats. He allowed only 56.6% of targets to be completed. He also only allowed a QB rating of 78.7 when balls were thrown in his direction.

Again though, I don’t think that the Chicago Bears or any other team in the NFL North should feel overly concerned when facing Peterson at this point in his career. He’s not a bad corner, he’s just not what he used to be.

Other Considerations: Adam Thielen, WR; Eric Kendricks, LB; Kirk Cousins, QB
