Chicago Bears who need a dominant training camp: Teven Jenkins, OT

Here is one of those players I mentioned who doesn’t need to dominate in training camp to make the final roster. No, Teven Jenkins is a lock to make this team. That said, we need to see what he can do with the pads on if he plans to push for that starting right tackle role.

During OTAs and minicamp, Teven Jenkins practiced six times as the starting right tackle. Then he was moved to the second string for six practices. Head coach, Matt Eberflus made it clear that the coaches were rotating guys around and to not read too much into it. That said, we are all reading too much into it.

Personally, I find Teven Jenkins to be a better offensive tackle than Larry Borom. This is not a shot at Borom. I think he will make a fine pro. I just see more from Jenkins than I do Borom. He has a mean streak that this line needs that I don’t see from Borom. Borom is more of a tactician. I think once the pads are put on, we will see Jenkins back on the starting line. Now, it will be up to the coaching staff to determine if that’s at right tackle or maybe they put him at right guard. Either way, Jenkins can move up the depth chart with a dominant training camp.
