The Chicago Bears need to receive the right trade value for Robert Quinn
When we look at the Chicago Bears 2022 roster, no one believes this team is going to compete for a Super Bowl let alone the playoffs. Chicago Bears fans are hoping for a big shift on the roster in 2023 as the team is projected to have the most salary cap space in the NFL. If we are being honest with ourselves though, no one has any idea if the team is going to spend big in 2023. It’s possible they continue to be strategic with their spending as they build through the draft.
Now, Robert Quinn is not a player who is viewed as a pivotal piece of the future success of this franchise. Many believe the team should look to move him now in hopes to get something in return. However, what would be a fair trade? If I am Ryan Poles, I am not even considering moving Robert Quinn for any deal that doesn’t include a third-round pick or better. Seeing that I don’t believe any team would send a first or second-rounder for Quinn, a third-rounder is where negotiations should start.
A fair trade for Robert Quinn, which only includes draft picks and not any other players, would be a third-round pick in 2023 and a sixth-round pick in 2024. The Bears should be looking to find a team that has a plethora of picks and is in a win-now window. There is one team that fits this description and comes with a few other reasons as to why they make for the best trade partner for Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears.
