4. Teven Jenkins

This is a bit of a different discussion than the last slide, but there is certainly something to be locked in from Teven Jenkins on Thursday. The team had been reluctant to move him to guard, letting him prove that tackle was not the best path.

Now that they seem convinced of that, they have let Jenkins spend the week on the interior to get a taste. Jenkins can go from struggling at right tackle to starting at right guard quickly.

That can mainly be thanks to Michael Schofield and his performance. Schofield was signed at the same time as Riley Reiff. However, Reiff has seen nearly twice as many first-team reps, both at right and left tackle, and the team felt good enough to hold Reiff out of the preseason.

For Schofield, they have been slower to ease him into the lineup, and in his first preseason game, we learned why. If he is still behind the moving train, and Jenkins can jump on, it will be an easy decision. The Bears are hoping that Jenkins can make the decision for them.
